The psychologist
Hello, My name is Roy and I am a psychotherapist. I am trained in both Clinical Psychology and Social and Organizational Psychology, and specialize in integrative psychotherapy and schema therapy (Senior Schematherapist).
I work with adults on an individual basis using an integrative approach focusing on schema therapy and psychodynamic psychotherapy. In addition, I offer group psychotherapy, both psychodynamic group psychotherapy and schema-focused group treatment. When appropriate and relevant, I also use experiential and mindfulness-based methods. EMDR treatment is also offered if necessary.
I completed a bachelor’s degree in psychology and film studies, and a master’s degree in social-organizational psychology. I later completed another master’s degree in clinical psychology at Leiden University. I have gained experience in a variety of clinical settings in the Netherlands. I regularly engage in continuing education and training. Alongside my clinical work, I have worked for several consultancy firms as an organizational psychologist, mostly focusing on NGOs.
I offer treatment in English, Dutch, and Hebrew.
In the Netherlands, I am an NIP (Dutch Institute of Psychologists) psychologist. In addition, I am internationally trained and licensed as a Schematherapist within the ISST (International Society of Schema Therapy) and the VSt (Association for Schematherapy). Besides, I am a registered psychologist with the Ministry of Health in Israel.
More about my style and approach:
As a therapist I do my best to create a warm and comfortable environment. The therapy sessions become a unique, personalized space. In this space I do my best for you to feel understood, validated and be able to bring your own unique outlooks and terminology in the process of healing, coping with hardships and growing.
I aspire to assist people in gaining better emotional awareness and deeper insights into their hardships, suffering, patterns of behavior and thinking through deeper connection with their feelings and needs. Being a psychologist, I take an integrative approach inspired by both my ongoing process of education and experience, as well as my personal passions including: art, philosophy, nature, and the meaningful connections with the people in my life.
My approach is also integrative in the sense that it is collaborative. In fact, I strive to help my clients bring their own passions, ideals and inner world terminology into therapy. And in this way be in charge of their growth process.
I wish you a fruitful and meaningful process of therapy.
